Opera Cabal and Oracle Hysterical: November 6 at Constellation

Opera Cabal is headed home this fall, and we're doing something the company has never done before: we're producing an album! Together with our collaborative partner in crime, Oracle Hysterical (a.k.a. Elliot Cole, Brad Balliett and Doug Balliett -- three of the most unusually talented folks I've ever met), we'll premiere "Hecuba" at Constellation, one of Chicago's hottest new venues, along with the Chicago Composers Orchestra. And yes, I'll be singing too.

"Hecuba" is not entirely opera, and it's not entirely pop, but we're pretty sure you'll have to peel your face off the floor when you're finished listening. Just to make sure, we've commissioned stop-motion animation wunderkind Evan Curtis to create a sneak peek video of one of the tracks:
